Dear Family in Christ,
It is a blessing to share with you what
God is doing in our lives in the different areas of the ministry.
We have two new children: Mirna, a girl,
and Esteve, a boy. Mirna is a cute 11-year-old
but she has never attended school before and suffers from severe
malnutrition. She also has a lot of
inward problems that need healing. She
was given away at birth to a couple who really couldn’t care for her along with
all of their own children. The father of
the couple that brought her to us had gone through the rehab residential
program. Esteve is 9 years old, but he
never attended school either. The court
took him from his mother because she was neglecting him and he has very bad
malnutrition as well. He and his other
siblings are all in different orphanages.
We are very happy for the opportunity that God is giving us to help them
and we pray that the court is going to allow them to stay with us
permanently.

The construction is really coming along
well. The roof is finished and some of
the guys from the rehab center helped to put the brick facing around the lower
part of the house. In June we are going
to have two groups from Orphan Resources Organization that are going to paint
the siding and put it on along with putting up the sheet rock. We will also have the doors and windows put
in, the insulation installed, and the electricity run. We are very thankful for all of the help that
we have been receiving from different people to finish this house! We are also praying for the possibility to
buy the small property that is between the two properties that we bought. The owner came to offer us the property for
$10,000, but we are praying he will come down to $7,500. It is important to own this property so that
it cannot be used for a bar or anything else a new owner that we don’t know
might build. We are praying that God
will provide the money to buy this property.
All over Guatemala the streets are
becoming overrun with drunks. It is very sad to see them sleeping on the dirt
every day and night without any hope. It
is a perfect time to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the men coming into
the rehab center because when they are desperate, they can hear God with a
humble heart. Since last year, there
have been 35 to 40 men everyday living at the rehab center and we are praying
that these men can allow Jesus to change their hearts. Only He can transform their lives.
The church is doing very well. We have a small church with some Guatemalan
families that have been faithful for several years now and also some
missionaries from Canada and the USA. We
all have a great time fellowshipping together after the service and once a
month we have a special lunch with the men at the rehab center together with
all the members of the church.
We are very happy to share with you all
our experiences and the different things that are happening here. Thank you for your faithfulness! Only God can give you a reward for everything
that you are doing.
