We finished building the wall around the new property. Now we are starting on a building the house for teenagers 14 to 18 years old, because we know that the necessities of the teenagers are not the same than the ones the little boys have. Therefore this new house will provide them a new schedule in which they will have more responsibilities but also more privileges. On January fourth we started with the foundation where the house is going to be. This house will be of metal, we are attaching a picture of the structure, our house is going to be of one story, it is different from our others houses however it is going to be strong and beautiful too. So, if you are interested in helping us with this new construction, please get in touch with us. Your support is going to help our teenagers to change their life and their sense of responsibility. I hope God be with you in everything you do. In His Love from all of us.

Christmas

We want to express gratitude to God because he allowed us to celebrate Christmas with our children. We like to teach them that Jesus Christ is the real meaning of Christmas, and that thank to him we could had this celebration. Every year, when Christmas is coming, the boys start to get excited because this is their favorite holiday. The 24th at morning the children presented a drama to the guys from the rehab center about Jesus birth, the kids gave them a little present too, in order to show them the love of God. At night we went to church, after the service we had tamales and we also share a special time with the guys from the Rehab Center and with people from the church.

During the night, the children opened their presents, they were happy! The 25th we had a special dinner, where the closest people to the children were invited. It was tired, but I can tell you that it was also a very happy time. Christmas is not only a time to receive but to share, and to share God´s love with those who surround us. God bless you,  Miguel

Trip to Panajachel
We want to thank to Rudy and Nelly, because when they where here they gave us extra money. It is what we used for this trip.
We want to express gratitude to God because last Thursday was an exciting day for our kids and also for us. We took a trip to Panajachel´s Lake. We left early in the morning and got there at 9:30. The first thing we did was to go up on a boat, of course it was very safe, and each of the kids had their own lifejacket. This boat took us to a little town, where we bought some souvenirs. It was a new experience to the children because for most of them it was their first time visiting a lake, it is also good for them to get in touch with what surrounds them.
We also had a delicious meal for lunch, it was steak and fried chicken. We are very thankful with God by reason of he always puts in the people´s heart the desire to help. We also thank to the guys from Orphan Resources because they provided the bus, and drive us back and forth.

Guatemala has been described as the worst place in the world to be a child.                                                                        1.            More than 660 children were murdered here in 2014, the Office of the Public Prosecutor says, while a case of sexual violence is reported every two hours. Teen marriage is common in a country where the legal age for a girl to wed is 14. But the recent case of a 12-year-old girl who was married to a man almost twice her age has made headlines. It was officiated by the local mayor who could now face prosecution. Pray this is followed through in the courts.                                                                                                                 2.            In a Newsbeat article: "They really are not living a healthy life."They get pregnant at a very early age and their bodies are not prepared to have children. They stop being children, literally, to start working as women."  "Traditions such as paying for a bride" are common, through the exchange of money or usually land, and that often a teenage girl must marry a man much older than her.                                                                                                   3.            Between 1960 and 1996, Guatemala experienced a devastating civil war, in which 200,000 people were killed and 45,000 people were "disappeared". Four out of five of these were of indigenous Maya ethnicity. The UN later ruled that "genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity" had occurred during the conflict, but last year the government in Guatemala denied the genocide. Now ordinary people are protesting against the government over these and other issues. Pray for them and the protection of the judges who must try these crimes. Current and past presidents and other officials are being brought to trial. Pray for the youth of Guatemala to sustain their efforts for a just change with a wisdom that comes from above.                                                                                                                                                                              4.            Small farmers in Central America’s “dry corridor” stretching from Panama to Guatemala, including parts of Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador, are hardest hit by Central America’s drought, brought on by a particularly strong El Nino climatic effect this year. Guatemalan farmers have suffered drought for the last three years. The corn crops are their income for the entire year. They need new crops and methods to sustain their families.  Peje Armado, where we work is part of this. Pray. ( Pictures are of dried, dead corn)
5.            Doctors are having to go outside hospitals to get even the basics of medicines. Some vaccines are not even available in Guatemala. Surgeries are being postponed or even denied to the very poor by public health departments due to lack of medicines and surgical equipment. Please pray for the public health doctors of Guatemala as they attempt to do their jobs, some of them are very dedicated men
Please keep these children and people in your prayers In His Love Chici Barbella
